Lola Ridge

Born in Dublin, raised in New Zealand and Australia, and published in American modernist circles from 1907. Anarchist, editor of Others and Broom, arrested protesting the Sacco and Vanzetti executions. The Ghetto (1918), on New York's Lower East Side, was her first collection. Almost entirely absent from Irish accounts of the period.
