Eithne Strong

Limerick-born, wrote in both languages, raised nine children, and produced frank, unsentimental work on marriage and Catholic womanhood — Flesh: The Greatest Sin (1980) is her key long poem. The Shine/Strong Award for best first collection was named for her and her husband Rupert.
