Máirtín Ó Direáin
From Inis Mór in the Aran Islands; spent his working life as a civil servant in Dublin. One of the three poets — with Seán Ó Ríordáin and Máire Mhac an tSaoi — who brought modernism into poetry in Irish. Spare, elegiac, writing the island against the city. Ár Ré Dhearóil and Stoite are the work most often reprinted.
