Paul Muldoon

From Co. Armagh; Heaney's student, later Professor at Princeton and Oxford Professor of Poetry. Pulitzer Prize 2003. Dazzlingly virtuosic, punning, rhyme-obsessed, structurally elaborate — Quoof, Madoc, The Annals of Chile, Moy Sand and Gravel. Also a lyricist and rock musician. Ireland Professor of Poetry 2022–2025; elected a Saoi of Aosdána in 2024. Past winner of the Pigott Poetry Prize.
